The agridatasets package offers a rich and diverse collection of datasets focused on agriculture, agronomy, horticulture, animal husbandry, forestry, plant pathology, entomology, soil science, and food production. It includes comprehensive data on topics such as crop yields, plant growth and genetics, seed germination, disease and pest infestation, herbicide and insecticide trials, fungicide efficacy, soil suitability and classification, animal weight gain and survival, poultry and livestock production, coffee and wine composition, and market/production statistics.
The package contains a wide variety of data types, including experimental field trials, uniformity trials, split-plot and split-split-plot designs, Latin square designs, randomized complete block designs, dose-response bioassays, survival data, and observational/market data. These datasets encompass crop and orchard yields (apple, grape, peach, tomato, strawberry, cotton, wheat, corn, rice, soybean, turnip), plant growth regulators and hormones, herbicide and pesticide efficacy trials, insect and fungal infestation studies, animal growth and reproduction data (cattle, pigs, sheep, poultry, ducks, guinea pigs, fish, bees), soil taxonomy and land-suitability classifications (Munsell color, coffee-growing suitability), and coffee and wine chemical composition data.

The datasets included in agridatasets are sourced from several existing R packages (including gpk, AgroR, ALUES, mcprofile, plm, aqp, live, smbdata, boot, collett, agridat, biometrics, Sleuth3, EnTraineR, easynem, avocado, GLMsData, spData, and IMIFA) as well as from Zenodo. Dataset names and, where applicable, formats have been adapted for consistency within this package; the underlying data values have not been altered. Each dataset retains the license of its original source (GPL-2, GPL (>= 2), GPL (>= 3), MIT + file LICENSE, Unlimited, or CC0, depending on origin).
